“This is not a dream. This is the plan.”
Imagine this: a Seminole County where every eligible voter from the college freshman casting her first ballot, the young parent squeezing civic life between school pickups, the longtime resident who has never missed a local election knowing exactly how to make their voice count. That is not a dream. That is the goal behind our newly adopted 2026 Voter Services Strategic Plan, and this year, we are building the engine to get there.
For the first time, our entire organization is operating from a unified playbook. Every committee, every chair, every volunteer is aligned around the same vision, the same targets, and the same standards. Speakers Bureau, Voter Registration, GOTV, Election Protection and Vote411. Working together on Forums and Debates.
The plan is built on data, not guesswork. We identified three demographic groups where our investment will have the greatest impact: young voters entering the process for the first time, the busy 25 to 45 age group who care deeply but are stretched thin, and registered voters who need one more nudge to show up. Each group has a dedicated team, targeted tactics, and clear goals. By November 3rd, we are aiming for 10 to 20 high visibility outreach events, more than 2,000 voter contacts, and 1,000 or more GOTV reminder postcards sent to Seminole County voters.
One of the most exciting changes this cycle is how we show up at community events. Our tabling is no longer single-focused. Every table, every event, every volunteer conversation now follows a consistent five-step Voter Engagement Process: check and update registration, talk about why voting matters with a special focus on local elections, offer GOTV sign-up options, introduce the League, and close with warmth and information to join us. Every table is set up the same way. Every volunteer knows the sequence. That consistency is how we plan to multiply our impact
None of this happens without people. Our volunteer pool is the heartbeat of everything we do, and we need it to grow. We are asking every League member: active, lapsed, or somewhere in between to think beyond our own ranks. Who in your neighborhood, your faith community, your workplace, your book club would show up for democracy if someone simply asked them? We are building a shared volunteer list, tracking every contact, and making it easier than ever to sign up, choose a shift, and make a difference without having to commit to a full day.
This is a moment that calls for all of us. The League has always believed that an informed, engaged electorate is the foundation of a healthy democracy. In 2026, Seminole County is going to feel that belief at every table, at every event, and in every conversation, we have with a voter who didn't know we were there for them.
