Join us for an informative hour addressing gun violence prevention
via the community violence intervention approach. Learn about Credible
Messengers, where it is working in Orange County and how it might be
utilized in Seminole County.
This Hot Topic program is presented as part of National Gun Violence
Awareness Month. Wear Orange, part of the national campaign is
June 7 - 9, serves to honor survivors and build community with those
working to end gun violence. Additionally the Brady Campaign marks
the month with ASK Day (Asking Saves Kids) on June 21.
This panel discussion will feature Ruben Saldaña – Founder Central Florida Credible Messenger (CM) Program,
Leslie Rivera - Head of CM Parental Action Committee,
Nuriyah Shabazz - CM Youth Advisory Board and Louis Catoe - Head of CM Youth Advisory Board.
The moderator will be Britt Henderson, Supervisor at the Dr. Velma Williams West Side Community Center
